Threads Worldwide, a fair profit ( notice I didn’t say for-profit), social impact organization, was founded in 2011 by three women exemplifying Margaret Mead's words,“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” These women are, in fact, changing the world. They partner with artisans in developing countries by purchasing their jewelry and other handmade items, creating a growing market for handmade goods to sell in a networked model in the U.S. Threads Worldwide educates all of us on the life-changing power of fair trade commerce.
